CADET MARCHES TO “PRIDE IN BEDFORD AWARD” VICTORY

Cadet Flight Sergeant Sean Denham of 134 (Bedford) Squadron is celebrating having been awarded the Pride in Bedford Young Achiever Award. The award is aimed at those who are working to make Bedford a special place to live and work in.

FS Denham was presented with the award at a gala event held at the Park Inn Hotel in Bedford town centre. The Young Achiever Award, sponsored by the University of Bedfordshire , is presented annually to someone under 21 who has achieved great things, either in sport, the arts, at school, in the voluntary sector or any other nominated fields.

FS Denham is the highest-ranking Cadet NCO within 134 (Bedford) Squadron and manages a dedicated team of Senior and Junior Cadet NCO'S. In 2007 he gained the top student award on the Air Cadet Leadership Course at RAF Cranwell. His talents do not stop there, as he has also achieved 12 Wing and 2 Regional Blues for Rugby and Cross Country.

A determined, mature and industrious individual, he has achieved 1 x A*, 3 x A, 9 x B and 1 x C graded GCSE passes and is currently studying for 3 A levels with a view to a future military career as an Officer in the Royal Marines. Outside of the Air Cadets FS Denham works as a Gymnastics Coach and Lifeguard. 

Flt Lt Mark Robinson, Officer Commanding 134 (Bedford) Squadron Air Cadets said: "The aim of the Air Cadets is to foster the spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship. FS Denham's achievements show that he has all those qualities and more. He is an excellent role model and we are all very proud of him."
