CADETS IMPRESS AT BISLEY

The 2008 Inter Cadet Services Meeting at the National Shooting Centre in Bisley recently took place, with one wing's team impressing despite making its first appearance in over 10 years.

Cadets from 2463 (Currie and Balerno) Squadron were representing Edinburgh and South Scotland Wing for the first time in the last decade. The young team, which consisted of Sgt Jamie Cumming, Cpl Andrew Jack, Cadet Hassan Iqbal and Cadet Roy Duffy fared extremely well in the competition. They took part in seven full bore competitions at three distances with each individual featuring in the top half of the competition.

Officer Commanding 2463 (Currie and Balerno) Squadron, Flt Lt Barry Macadam was delighted with the efforts of his cadets. He said: "The wing has not had a team entered into the competition for over ten years so this was a brand new experience for the cadets and the staff. The team individuals were placed in the top half of the competition in a number of the competitions. When considering that this was their first attempt in a competition of this nature it is a remarkable achievement."
