GOVERNMENT PROPOSAL TO EXPAND CADET FORCES IN SCHOOLS

The Air Cadet Organisation welcomes the recent Government announcement to expand cadet forces in schools as recognition of the outstanding youth development opportunities that both school and community based units provide.

The ACO, which comprises both the Air Training Corps and the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) has already embarked on a balanced 10-year strategy to increase cadet numbers to 50,000 by the centenary of the Royal Air Force in 2018; this will result in an increase in the size of both school and community based units. We are ready and able to work alongside and support any schools which wish to take this initiative forward.
