NEW COMMANDANT FLIES IN
Air Commodore Ian Stewart has flown into Headquarters Air Cadets, as the new Commandant of the Air Cadet Organisation. Air Commodore Gordon Moulds handed over the baton of command to Air Commodore Stewart at a presentation attended by headquarters staff.
Following the handover the new Commandant said: “I am immensely proud to be joining the Air Cadet Organisation at a time when it is doing an enormous amount of good for the youth of today. The number of high quality individuals being produced is superb and we must now look to push on from here.”

The ACO’s Chief of Staff, Group Captain Malcolm Evans thanked the outgoing Commandant, Air Commodore Moulds for everything that he had done. He said: “Strategically we are in a position that we have never been in before as an organisation. It is now time to continue the hard work, whilst also thanking Air Commodore Moulds for his hard work.”
Air Commodore Moulds made one last speech to the permanent staff before he made the presentation of the banner scroll to Air Commodore Stewart, symbolizing the change of command. He said: “The organisation has moved forward tremendously. Many aspects have been improved and there is no doubting that it has been a team effort. It is with great pleasure that I hand command over to Air Commodore Stewart, who I know will continually improve the organisation.”
